Random

Just a few things that are on my mind on this Friday evening at 10:45.

Dustin is currently "prepping his meat" for the big smoke out tomorrow. The pit will be running ALL day. As in 7am to 11pm. SO FAR we will be doing 2 briskets, a pork shoulder, sausage, chicken and probably a pork loin. I REALLY wanted some turkey but apparently that's not a hot ticket item for grocery stores to carry in the middle of June. So, our house will smell like hell a BBQ pit for the next few days.

The kids haven't been to bed before 9:30 all summer. It's starting to catch up to them.

I've heard "I'm hungry" or some variation of that at least 2,619 times this summer so far. We are only 2 weeks in.

My friend Christine wrote a funny blog about our trip to Houston. Our meaning we were supposed to meet up at least 2 times and NEVER did. Typical. Yet, ok with us.

I've decided my favorite saying is and always will be "Bless her heart". You can basically say anything you want about a person and as long as you follow it up with that you're all good.

I have a zit. On my chin. I am 32. This seems cruel to me.

I also am a fair shade of fried. Got a bad sunburn yesterday. I'm basically a hot mess.

I watched a friends one-year-old daughter today. It was awesome. Not awesome enough for me to open the baby shop but still fun. Bubba even got into "babysitting" her. I thought he would completely ignore her.

It's now 10:50, not bad for 5 minutes.

G'night!

Welcome to Summer!

We are one week in and having a GREAT summer so far. School ended for the big kids last Friday and we kicked off summer with a pool party at our friend Elyse's house! Right after we left there we loaded up the car, took the furry friends to the boarder, and hit the road for the Woodlands! Of course we had to stop at Buccee's on the way and get some grub.

We spent the week with Jenni, Brian, and Davis and had such a great time hanging out with them. It was so neat to see the cousins playing together so well. Bryson just LOVES Davis and Davis so patient with him. They watched 800 movies, had dance parties, went swimming, visited the Natural Science museum and lots more. Oh, and we were able to watch Davis play 4 baseball games.....that was HOT but he played really well. His team made it to the championship game but lost. We also took the kids to an Astros game....the Astros lost (NOT shocking) but we had a great time.

Now that we are back home and unpacked (the worst part about going on a trip) we are going to get settled into our summer routine. I forsee lots of pool time, gym time, play-set time in our future.

The pictures are out of order and not great quality since they are from my phone but enjoy none-the-less.

I hope your summer is packed full with all the fun things in life! (And lots of vodka if not!)

Angela and Matt's Wedding in Buda

Auntie Ang and Uncle Matt tied the knot in a perfect little wedding on May 11th in Buda. We are so excited for them and thrilled Angela is a Wilson now!!! Brynnlee slept through the entire service but eventually woke up for some pictures. I didn't get ANY pictures of the reception at their house but the 2 families did a great job coming together and making it a special day for them. We are so thankful that God put Matt in Angela's life and we look forward to seeing them grow old together! We wish them their own "Happily Ever After!"

Life as we know it.....

So, Spring is coming to a close and summer is creeping up on us! Soccer season is over for the FC Cobras,  they had a great season! Lots of laughter at those games and some frustration too (ie: when Bryson cries on the field and tries to cling to Dustin's legs) but all in all the boys had a great time! Ramsey has one more game this weekend and then she is done with her season......and possibly soccer for the rest of her life. She just really isn't that into it and thinks she may go a different route in the fall. She is already signed her life away, and our money, for cheerleading in the fall so we will see what we have time for!

Anyway, no more soccer and now on to swimming lessons!!! Bryson starts next week with his BFF, Noah. Noah is truly a fish in the water, helps that he has a pool in his backyard, so I'm hoping his skills will rub off on Bryson!

We officially have 20 more days of 1st grade of left!!!! I can't believe my baby girl is about to be in second grade. I am so sad that she will be in a whole new pod next year and won't be with the babies of the school.....seems silly I know but now she is like a real kid!

Once school is out I plan on packing our days with some gym time for me, some swimming and then family time at night, hopefully riding bikes and scootering around the 'hood. The weather has been so awesome lately, we've been so spoiled! Lake trip is planned, a trip to California is planned and then the girls river trip is in August!!!! WOOHOO!

Pictures on next post! That's all I've got for now!

Spring is for Soccer!

A few weeks ago the Bettencourt's came to visit us and watch the kids play some soccer! It was awesome having all of us under the same roof.....except for Matt, we missed you! We LOVED having a baby in the house and Miss Brynnlee is the cutest thing ever! Ramsey loved watching her and oohhing and aaahhhing all over her. (Don't be getting any ideas about our love of babies, this factory is closed!) We look forward to seeing them again soon, on the boat this summer! :)

Spring Break

So, back in December or January Dustin got a wild hair to take the kids skiing over Spring Break. We checked out a lot of New Mexico Mountains, talked with friends and decided on Red River. My parents came with us, which was a HUGE blessing because Dad was great chauffeur and Mom helped with the kids and food so much! Anyway, we had a GREAT time and will for sure be doing it again next year. The kids were ok with ski school, Bubba cried when he saw me and said he didn't like skiing but then woke up the next morning wanting to go. The best part for the kids was that after the slopes closed they offered tubing down the bunny hill. The kids LOVED it and even went by themselves a few times. Red River is such a cute little town, I highly recommend it for new skiers and those with small kids. Enjoy a few pictures!

The living room of our condo.....it was a nice place and we hope to get the same room next year!
We woke up Sunday morning to 3-4 inches of beautiful fresh snow, made for a GREAT day of skiing!
