I know some of you can't so I am going to resist telling you our BIG family news until the appropriate time..........it's really not that juicy so don't get too excited

In other news, our fabulous vacay to Tyler has been postponed a few days. I am now heading out on Wednesday instead of today. Good thing because my allergies are driving me crazy today and I don't think sneezing over and over while driving is a good mix.

Have a wonderful Memorial Day!!!! (for us that will include grocery shopping, baking, a trip to storage and then pigging out on BBQ again!)

UPDATE: I AM NOT PREGNANT! that would be MORE than big news, that would be crazy big news. it really isn't that juicy, no need to worry!

Reality Check.....

The last few days I have been a funk. No real reason for it, just a funk. So, in true Lori form, instead of dealing with all the things on my to-do list I procrastinate by surfing the blogs that I "stalk" on a regular basis.

I cry for, I laugh with and most of all I admire these people. (that I don't even know)

Most of these people have real issues......not the little frustrations I face but BIG things like cancer, sick children, etc.

I have just been so down on myself lately. I have said stupid things thinking I was funny when I was really just being a caddy B. I need to get back to the nice Lori, the cheerful Lori and not this person that I am not proud to be.

Nothing like a good ol' reality check to make you look in the mirror and not like what you see.......here's to a better day tomorrow!

On a happier note (since I am trying to not be so negative) the kids are doing great! Ramsey is done with school for the summer. She doesn't really get that concept yet but next week when she is sick of me and wants to go I think reality will set in on her. Bryson's newest obsession is his toothbrush. Let me take that back, ANY toothbrush will do!!!! He has successfully put all of them in his mouth this week. Luckily I had a few spares lying around for the rest of us!

Irritated.

it has been one of those days around here and frankly I am done. is 1:15 too early to crawl into bed? and not for a nap but for the rest of the day.....

• quiet time really isn't all that quiet today and that is irritating to me.
• Bryson broke into a "child-proof" bottle of Zyrtec and that irritates me. (note to CPS: he didn't swallow ANY pills, all were accounted for)
• Daddy dearest changed all of his plans up for this week and next and that irritates me. (sorry hun but it does)
• I will feel guilty about posting this later bc there are SO many people who really deserve to have a poor-me day and they choose the higher road.....that is not me and that irritates me.
• my house is PERFECTLY clean - YAY - but I know it won't last more than 5 hours and that irritates me.

now that I got that off my chest I am going to go take the batteries out the toys that are being too loud for quiet time and then take a nap. I hope I wake up on the right side of the bed this time around.

Jury Duty

Seriously, I have ALWAYS wanted to serve on a jury and today my wish just may have been granted. I have been summons for jury duty in June!! I have already filled out my application online and really hope I get to go through at least some of the process.

I know this is completely lame and others would be pissed if they got picked but I am pumped up about it! What's the going rate for jury duty these days?

Update: She is still not wanting to walk on her leg....Dr. Brown said this was normal because it is so stiff. So, please pray that she will start walking soon and will gain her full confidence back.

The day after......

why can't everyday be Mother's Day? I was spoiled yesterday by getting to do all the things that I wanted accomplished for the weekend PLUS I don't think I changed a diaper all day! Thanks Dustin! (not to mention I was spoiled with some awesome gifts!)

Today, there is no Dustin in sight, Bryson is in a terribly bad mood, Ramsey won't eat breakfast, the dogs won't go outside because the grass is wet and it is a cloudy ugly day so far.

I wouldn't trade any of it for the world but I could use a few more Mother's Days in a year!!

PS...Ramsey made the cutest flower pot at school. I Heart Handmade Gifts! I will keep it forever, seriously. You will find it by my bedside at the assisted living place of my choice.

Short shorts.....

I bought them this weekend and I am pretty sure I am going to have to drink Kahlua in my coffee to walk out of the house this summer......or better yet a mimosa, or maybe I can get used to the taste of a Bloody Mary. oh wait, alcohol is not the point here.

Back to my short shorts. By typical standards they aren't really that short, just not the Bermuda type shorts I am used to sporting. You see, I have lost weight but in my head I still look the same.....mental block I guess. Lord knows I still have work to do but I was told that the shorter shorts made me look taller and skinnier...and who doesn't want that.

So, if I look like the guy above please feel free to smack Erin, Kim and Rhonda because they talked me into them!!!!
