Twinkle Twinkle Little Star......

On the way to Ramsey's Mother's Day Out program she always wants to listen to "her songs". For months and months we have listened to the same CD over and over again but the girl just can't get enough. Lately she screams the songs as loud as possible and usually requests to hear the same one and over and over again. This morning that song was "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".

When we got to school she was still singing it when the car stopped, as I got Bryson out of the car, as we walked into school and down the hall. Her class was getting ready to go to chapel (yes, we were running very late) so they were all lined up.

Ramsey grabbed Mrs. Wilma's hand and kept on singing. The little boy next to her started singing as well and I thought that was pretty cute. I put her stuff up in the room as they walked off to chapel. When I left the room I could see her class down the hall and as I got closer I noticed the whole class was now singing "Twinkle Twinkle".....I just thought it was too precious.

Ramsey a choir director?!?!? It could be worse although I think Bryson will get annoyed with all the singing at some point.

By the way....check out my friend Christine's blog (listed under my favorites as The Maywalds) she has some super cute pictures of her daughter Addie and Bryson. They are so in love!

Seriously????

So here I am thinking that my sweet little girl is just quietly watching her "show" before she goes down for her nap BUT OH NO.....that little stinker was playing with her lip gloss and I guess decided her room needed new floors too because she decided to color paint it into the carpet. Seriously?

So, I of course got on to her and put her in the timeout. When that happens she always has to go potty so as she was walking to her potty she successfully peed all over the tile in the living room.

I guess the rest of the afternoon will be spent steam cleaning the carpets, scrubing the tile and praying it comes out. The new carpet cleaner I bought this weekend sure will come in handy. Thank goodness we didn't replace those floors this weekend, you would have to lock me up.

Although, I get what I deserve....I hadn't checked in on her bc I was posting my stupid blog!

Long weekend = Hard Weekend

We still have to work on the baseboards and reinstall the toilet but it is almost done!!!

Pre-grout phase but still looking good!

Seriously, is he already as wide as Ramsey??

Maddi enjoying the new floors....let's just hope she doesn't scrape them up.

After the carpet was ripped out, before the new floors were in.

From the pictures you can probably tell that we did a little DIY action this weekend on the house. Dustin and his dad installed new tile in the kids bathroom as well as new hardwood in the study. It all looks GREAT and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

SUPER BIG THANKS to the Bettencourt's (Lolli and Pops) for coming up to help us this weekend....we couldn't/wouldn't have done it without you guys! Your hard work and energy is amazing and we love you guys. Also, thanks to Uncle Brian and Aunt Jenni for stopping by to help as well!!!! I know all 4 of you probably had better things to do so we really appreciate it!

You know I have to post pictures of the kiddos as well!

Hope you all had a wonderful and safe Memorial Day weekend. Let's all pray for our past and present troops and for all that they do....Uncle Rob we love you!
Sorry this post is all out of whack.

Beautiful Sunday Afternoon.....

He is finally growing some eyelashes!!!! Such a cutie!

Enjoying the nice weather!

Ramsey is getting into the nice weather and wants to be outside all the time. Last night our neighborhood put on a "swim and movie" at the pool. Ramsey and Dustin had fun playing the freezing cold pool and we stayed for some of the movie as well. Poor Ramsey's lips were purple so we decided we needed to get her home to try to warm her up....after a nice warm bath she finally started looking normal again. Bryson loves being outside as well and put on a nice flirtation show with some of the neighbors!!! He is starting to smile and "talk" so much more now, I say it at every stage they go thru but I love this stage...his little personality is starting to show more and more each day.

This afternoon Dustin set up her beach-ball sprinkler and let her run free in the backyard. She loved the water and had a blast, yet again she came in with purple lips!!! But it made for some cute pictures! Hope you enjoy! By the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO REECE! Thanks for inviting us to your party....you are such a cute princess!

Two Month Check-up

I forgot to let you all know about Bryson's 2-month check-up that he went to on Monday. Dr. Newton said the boy looks great! He weights 12lbs 80z (exactly what Ramsey weighed at her 4 month check-up) and is over 22 inches long. He seems HUGE to me but I guess it is just because I keep comparing him to little Ramsey, after all he is already 1/2 her weight!!!!!

He does have thrush again but this time it is from the antibiotics they gave him in the hospital when they thought he had pneumonia. I was told he should be sleeping better by this point so Bryson and I have been having some heart-to-heart talks about it. So far my begging and pleading hasn't worked on him but someday we will get there. Just like Ramsey wasn't going to go to kindergarten with diapers on, he will eventually start going a few more hours between feedings....just hopefully sooner than later.

We have much to be thankful for so I will not complain anymore about it!

We are going to be starting two projects here in the Bettencourt house...we are putting down some hardwood floors in the study and new tile in the kids bathroom. We are QUICKLY out growing our house so we are trying to make a few home improvements to it so we can get the most for it when we decide to move. Our house has been great to us but we are busting out of here. So, I will post some pictures of those projects when I get the chance and we actually start! The purchasing of the floors was our first step and that was done today so give some time to start.

For now, here is a picture of the kiddos taken last week....soon to be arriving in your mailboxes as our birth announcement. (Please ignore the toothpaste on Ramsey's shirt....like I said, I find it impossible to take a decent picture of 2 kids)

Hope you are all enjoying your day! I'm off to pick up Ramsey from school!

Poop in the bathtub

After a long day of playing Ramsey and Ava decided they wanted to take a bath together. I was happy to do it because I knew it would buy me some time to get ready for Bunco night, plus after eating dinner they needed it. They had been in the tub about 15 minutes when I decided it was probably time to get them out. I left the bathroom for 30 seconds to get towels only to run back in there due to the blood curling screams. I just knew I was going to walk in and see blood but to my surprise I saw Ava holding a pretty sizable piece of poop in her hand. She was very upset about the situation but the funny thing was Ramsey was just sitting there like "what's the big deal, I do that every few months!"

Needless to say we yanked the girls out of the tub.....took Ramsey to her bathroom to rewash her....put Ava on the toilet to finish what she started and then took her to Ramsey's tub after that. It all happened to quickly and Dustin and I were just laughing thru it all.....does this stuff only happen to us? surely not!

So, today will be spent bleaching bath toys and tubs!

Happy Mother's Day!

So I know my Mother's day wishes are a day late but that is just how my life has been lately....I seem to do everything a day late! To all my mommy friends out there....I love you all and am so thankful we have each other to help us thru this journey.

As I was cleaning up this afternoon it hit me how rewarding motherhood can be. I am currently watching my friend Erin's little girl Ava. She and Ramsey play together all the time....they fight like sisters sometimes but they BEG to play together all the time. Ramsey is at school today so it is just little Bryson, Ava and I. This is the first time I have watched Ava without Ramsey around and it has been such a treat! She is such a fun little girl, very inquisitive and down right funny. What occurred to me today was that it really is more important to have your kids behave well for others than for you. We, as parents, are supposed to put up with their attitudes, fits and fights. It is the lessons we teach them during their difficult times that shape them into the perfect kids they are when we aren't around.

Now, that doesn't mean I don't want Ramsey to behave well for me but I just had the realization that it is better for her to be on her best behavior when we are not around.... hopefully that will reflect back on us. I think parents also need reassurance that we are doing a good job from outside sources so here's my shoutout for the day: Geoff and Erin are doing a great job with Ava!

I hope some of that made sense...probably not so that is enough rambling for the day!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL OF YOU! Dustin and I are SO blessed with our mom's...I hope our kids will feel the same way one day.

My weekend getaway to Centennial Medical Center

Well our first trip to the ER for Bryson turned into a weekend getaway to Centennial Medical Center.

Friday night Bryson came down with a fever of 102.6. We immediately called our doctor who told us to go straight to the ER. After having a chest x-ray and urine taken it was determined that Bryson had pneumonia....WHAT? Are you kidding me? I guess all the hand sanitizer in the world can't keep him from getting sick.

Dustin and I were doing OK with the whole situation until they started trying to get his IV in. After 6 failed attempts they called the pediatric nurse down, she failed so they determined the best course of action was to put the IV in his head. Our poor baby boy was SO upset with all the poking and prodding. He was crying, I was crying and Dustin looked like he was about to go thru the roof.

That was by far the worst part of the weekend. We were kept there until Sunday because he still had a fever as of Saturday afternoon. Had it not broken they were preparing us for doing a spinal tap on him. Our prayers were answered and we were released with a diagnosis of a viral infection.

For those of you that don't know the history of Ramsey's illnesses she is ALWAYS diagnosed with a viral infection that they can do nothing about. I guess both of my kids bodies will just spike a fever when they get sick....Tylenol, we never leave home without it. We know we are so blessed as it could have been much worse.
