blogging from an airplane.....

I had no idea you could now get the Internet on an airplane.....I really am a country bumpkin I guess!!

anyway, we are currently flying somewhere between NYC and Dallas....I would look out my window and tell you what I could see but we are literally on the last row of the plane so I am looking at an engine.

the fasten seat belt sign just came back on due to some turbulence so I am going to cut this short and start praying.

I do NOT like flying now that kids are in the picture!

Did you know that sausage can catch on fire?? I knew that flames could shoot up from the grill but I have never seen meat catch on fire.....well, until today. I didn't know what to do so I just let the flames burn out...this is what I ended up with!

A very "Happy Meal"

For the first time in her 4 years of life....Ramsey ate an ENTIRE cheeseburger out of her happy meal. Seriously, the whole burger.

"Take me out to the ballgame"

On Saturday we went with our great friends Hank, Steph and Grayson to the Frisco Rough Riders baseball game. I was thinking we were going to sweat our butts off but the weather actually turned out to be awesome. If you know me well, you know that I can't turn down the "ballpark nachos"......they didn't let me down!!! There is just something I love about that fake/processed (very unnatural colored) yellow cheese!!!! Yum-o!

don't you hate it when.......

• you go to the grocery store for a few items.
• walk out with a cart full of crap you don't need and didn't go there for.
• AND THEN forget one of the main things you went to get.

UGH!

the good news is I have a lifetime supply of peanut butter crackers.....the bad news is no bread with our spaghetti tonight. (at least my butt is thankful!)

oh, in case you were wondering, I did have a list....bread just wasn't on it.

date night

as parents, sometimes there is nothing more important than a good ol' fashion date night. I DO realize that just last weekend, not even a full week ago, Dustin and I were fortunate to find ourselves sleeping in a hotel room without a kid in sight. I also realize that in less than a week we are flying to NYC for 3 whole nights without a kid in sight.

That being said: tonight is date night.

On the agenda.....dinner, petsmart and target. All things that are better done without kids in sight!

I can't wait.

random happenings......

I had a birthday party this weekend...."The Dirty 30 Party" and it was SO MUCH FUN! However, I will admit that hangovers at 30 are much worse than they are in your 20's.

I don't know if it is my old age or the alcohol but a lot of the night is a little blurry.....

I went to Kohl's tonight and got a cute cute dress for NYC for $10. WootWoot!!!

My cousin and her husband adopted a little boy (6yrs old) and I am so excited for all of them. Can you imagine how thrilled he must be to have his forever family and for them to have completed theirs!?!?!?! Awesome!!!

I have gained some weight the last few weeks. There is something about the summer that just makes me want to eat. Anyway, I am done with my love affair with food and am determined to have a love affair with the treadmill the next few weeks. If you can't find me, look for me at the gym.

Ramsey has her first soccer practice tomorrow.....how cute is she gonna be in shin-guards and cleats!!! LOVE IT!

Oh, and Dustin is the coach so he can now be called Dustin, D, Daddy, Coach D or Rancic.

I don't know why I love this couple and their show but I do.

Could it be that there is NOTHING else on tv during the summer.....sure.

Could it be that they live part-time in Chicago and I love that city.....sure.

Could it be that I have been looking for a new "Jessica and Nick" for years.....sure.

All I know is that I love them and I am now calling Dustin "Rancic".

Bryson found Ramsey's (I think it is really Dustin's) harmonica the other day and he LOVES to play it!!!! Don't get me wrong, it can get annoying pretty quickly but for the first few minutes it is cute.

A weekend of "First's"

My theory was confirmed: I DO think he looks like a little boy and not a baby. However, he looks pretty darn cute with a decent "hairdo"

Ramsey had her first sleepover at a friends house. She stayed with the Maywald's on Friday night and had a great time!!!! She is 4 going on 14 it seems.

Oh, and let's not forget Ramsey's first trip to Children's Hospital ER.
She took a nasty fall at the Frisco Aquatic Center. No stitches were required....but an apology was to the nurse she kicked in the gut while they tried to clean her eye up!

We are hoping our next weekend full of "first's" won't be so dramatic......although that's the way we tend to do things around here!

Dustin surprised me with a trip to NYC for my birthday!

No kids, no alarm clocks, no set plans.....sounds like perfection to me!

Sunshine and roses..........

Today I turn 30. Seems impossible but today is the day.

I can also honestly say that when I was younger (when I thought 30 was O.L.D.) I always pictured myself right where I am at for this age.....married, house, kids, dogs etc.....

Life ain't all sunshine and roses (who has time for that with all the tantrums, dirty diapers, spills and screams going on) but as I turn a year older and wiser I can't help but get all emotional about how blessed I am. Life is good and from what I hear it keeps getting better so Bring. It. On.
