Homeless

well, sort of. we officially no longer own a home.

our closing was today and it went off without a hitch. except for the part when Bryson freaked out about his candy and then again when he hit his head on the table.

so, now the countdown and packing begins for the April 21st closing on our new house!!!!!

My BAD idea of the day:

Taking the kids to the inspection.

I hardly took any pictures because I was chasing Bubba around the whole time. (funny side story: Bryson totally stole the key to the house and chucked it in the backyard when we weren't looking. It took us at least 10 minutes to find it......the inspector was not impressed)

Here are a few I snapped!

the other side of the entry way.

Kitchen!!! Please excuse the mess, they are packing up their stuff!

stay tuned.....

I am headed over to the new house in an hour to meet with the inspector. Honestly, I am just excited about seeing the house again, taking some measurements and snapping some pictures of it------which of course, I will share with all of you!!

I am taking my BIL, Bria, with me so the inspector can tell him any issues. I figured it was much better this way considering I am pretty sure I won't know 90% of what he talking about! Erin is coming too, it's always good to have a friends opinion on furniture arrangements and such!

And since my blog wouldn't be the same without some totally random comment: Why is that every time I hear or think of the inspector I think of the theme song to "Inspector Gadget" (GooooooGadgetGoooooo)

Step One: CHECK!

We officially have a signed contract on the house pictured in yesterdays post!!!! WOOHOO!!!!! We are SO very excited and nervous at the same time. We are buying this house with every intention of making it our "roots" house. We already know we LOVE the area (it's all of 2.3 miles away from where we are now). We love the school district, neighborhood and it's amenities and feel confident about the future we are planning there. It is directly across from the elementary school so I can walk Ramsey to school everyday....in my pj's and possibly bra-less!!! Not that I would do that :)

Our WONDERFUL realtor, Candace Berrier, is going to be out of town for a few days so I get to play "grown-up" while she is gone. I have to schedule the inspection, drop off earnest money and basically get the ball rolling on our new house! I hope I can handle all the responsibility, just kidding....sort of!!!

Now the real fun can begin!!!

I can't wait to go in there and start taking notes on things I have been wondering over the last few days.....which windows needed blinds, how big is Ramsey's closet, is there a closet in the game room, etc.

Anyone interested in a packing party????

update....

So, we have a contract on the house!!! The inspection was done yesterday but I have no idea how it went. Hopefully there isn't too much on the list because I really don't want to mess with it.

We are hoping to go look for houses for most of the day tomorrow but now Dustin isn't sure if he can get away from work. Ummm, we need a house dude. (Granted, we need you to have a job too but we NEED a house to buy! Can't they live without you for one day??)

Happy St. Patty's Day...just a little early! I am looking forward to a green beer!

Bubba

weighs: 27lbs

has a BIG head, still
is 34.5in long
in other words, he is tall, skinny and has a big head.......sound like anyone we know??
he also ALWAYS has a stain on his shirt, ALWAYS has a cup in his hand, and of course loves to be "ou-sigh"!!!

say cheese!

This is the face I get as soon as I pull out the camera. And he is saying "cheeeese".
The face of pure happiness:

At least they look like they love each other!
If only he had his eye open!

Her model pose:
Nothing like an impromptu photo shoot with the kids. I am pretty sure neither one of them have had their hair brushed today......but they are fed, happy and ready for naps!

Two years ago today........continued

It was snowing...in March...in Texas....my Dr. was out of town....I was in denial for a few hours that it was happening......but he was ready.

Therefore:
Bryson Andrew Bettencourt entered the world and forever changed our family.

Then:

NOW!

We love you Bubba and can't imagine life without you! You are funny, sweet, the world's best hugger, a charmer, a flirt but sometimes aggressive with your sister. You love your doggies, can't live without your "cow" (milk), love your "wovie" (pictured above) and you brighten our days with your smile and laughs.....although you can throw some serious fits too! You are you and WE LOVE YOU!
By the way: The poor guy walked into the living room this afternoon and puked everywhere.....we aren't sure if it is the dreaded stomach flu that has be going around or just an isolated glum-tum. Either way, not the best way to break in the 2's!!!!!
The PAR-TAY for the little guy is next weekend at McDonald's with his best bud Conner. Sure to be a good time for all.....if you're into the whole trans fat/fake meat/high calorie thing!

Two years ago today

Two years ago today I was a desperate pregnant woman. A BIG and desperate pregnant woman. You see, Bryson's due date was 2 days away but I wasn't scheduled to be induced until 2 days AFTER his due date. I couldn't fathom having to wait another 4 days being the BIG desperate pregnant woman that I was.

So I did what any normal and sane pregnant woman would do.........I crashed my friends Dr. appt (we had the same OB/GYN) and begged my doctor to check me one more time. I tried and tried to convince him I was ready to have this baby! My Dr. was headed out town the following day for a mini-4day-vacation and I just knew I would have to deliver with one of his partners if I went into labor.

He didn't check me, I am sure he thinks I am crazy, but in the end I WAS RIGHT!

to be continued...............

summer plans.....

I want to plan a trip for the family.

Here's the problem(s):

  • I don't want to spend a lot of money.
  • Bryson can only handle being in the car about 4 hours tops.
  • I am not ready to wear a bathing suit.
  • I need Bryson to learn to swim!

what are your summer plans? any suggestions for me? We would prefer lake house, beach house or something along those lines.
