My son's face ---- NO, I do not beat him, he just always runs into things or falls over. ALL. THE. TIME.

My daughter commenting on your physical appearance ---- if you are a little person, she will comment about your height. if you are older, she will call you Grandma or Grandpa. THANK GOD we are not commenting about weight yet. (I have tried to tell her that it isn't nice to talk about people but she doesn't get it....any help would be appreciated it.)

My house ---- Yes, I am a stay at home mom. That does not mean I am Super Woman! I try, I really do but sometimes I just can't keep up.

My hair ---- Kay, I am calling you tonight sista'. Shaggy dog comes to mind when I look in the mirror.

My attitude ---- No fun-haters allowed in this house so I better get over it!

My dogs ---- they stink.

Our yard ---- Dustin needs to mow. I would but I am allergic to grass! (YAY for me!) And who am I kidding, I don't mow.

So please excuse my family and all of our issues!!!! We are working on it I swear!

We spent the weekend in Round Rock and Burnet visiting family. My Aunt CiCi and Uncle Donnie were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary so we drove down to join in on the fun! It was a very nice party and the best part was just getting to see the family we never get to see. We need to do this sort of thing more than once every 3-5 years for sure. Thanks to Carin and Melisa for hosting the party, we had a great time!

Happy Birthday to my baby girl. I know you HATE being called my baby girl because you are a BIG girl, but you will always be my baby.

You are the light of our lives and we love the little lady you are becoming. You have such a sweet soul and we are so proud of you.

BTW, I just re-read this post from a year ago and it made me cry a little bit.....it is amazing how much she has grown and matured in the last year.

Ramsey's Birthday party.....

Once again I wasn't great at taking pictures at a party but luckily I have some great friends that took some for me! She wanted a picnic for her party so that is what she got at a park down the street from our house.

It was hot, but it could have been much worse. BTW, having a pinata at an outdoor party is a huge hit with the kids.....nerve-racking for the parents, but great for the kids!

Thanks to all of our friends and family that were able to make it!

PS: Doesn't she look so old in those pictures....she is growing up way too fast.

Last night Dustin and I were able to go to dinner in Ft. Worth with our good friends Cari and Nathan.......this was after we attended a beautiful wedding for my college roommate Michelle and her husband Jong Woo.

Anyway, we went to Lonesome Dove and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! For any of you Food Network or Bravo watchers the chef and owner is Tim Love.

Freaking phenomenal!

childhood memories

So, my sister Megan always makes fun of me for remembering the stupidest things from our childhood. Today, as I was commiserating over the heat, I remembered the silliest tid-bit. I can vividly remember watching the TV in Amarillo hoping that we hit the 100 degree mark AND I would be mad if we didn't get there.

WHAT?

It must be true that as a kid the heat doesn't affect you as much. I mean, it has to be true because I see kids running around outside all the time and they don't look like they are going to die. As for myself, if I can't get a front row parking spot where I am going I probably won't go. Who wants to unload and load the kids in this heat.

Could I obsess more about the heat? I know what you are thinking....."Get over it". And I will, as soon as "fall" comes to Texas!

And what kind of idiot plans an outdoor birthday party in late June? That would be me! Here's hoping for a nice cool breeze on Saturday morning from 10-12!

what is it about the heat index that as it rises I get bitchier and tireder??? yes mom I know that is not a word but as I mentioned I am bitchy and tired so please don't correct me!!!!!!

I really do hate to gripe about it because it is only going to get worse but I swear it is so freaking hot outside. I am miserable.......Bryson is miserable......and Ramsey, well she is Ramsey.

However, I did make a pretty good batch of spaghetti sauce today.

Bryson liked it, double ear infection and all. Yes, you read that correctly----my sweet little chunk-a-monk has a double ear infection in June.

one word: awesome.

Goodbye Old Friend........

I spent this weekend helping my family clean out our lake house on Lake LBJ. This house has been in our family for 50 years and pulling way from it today felt like a death in the family. I cannot remember a summer that I didn't go there and spend at least a few days. As an adult we have spent wonderful vacations there with our friends and their kids.

No matter who was there or what was done I will always cherish the memories of the lake house.......birthday parties, stickers, staying up late with the cousins, Michigan Rummy, watermelon, the smell of sunscreen, MY boat, torpedo, firecrackers, washers, mustaches, outdoor showers, grilling, playing "stick" with Maddi, snakes, the list could go on and on. (but most of you have no idea what I am talking about so I will keep it short)

It will be greatly missed.

I am still crying about it so we are going to the pool in the 'hood to cheer me up!

water aerobics......

If you want a good work out go take freaking water aerobics. I tell you what, those old ladies know what they are doing by taking that class. I am so worn out today and I am blaming it all on the H2O workout.

I would suggest going with a friend, it was so much fun laughing with Erin while we were doing this. At one point I thought I might drown because I got such an awful cramp in my foot but other than that it was awesome.

Don't believe me that it is a good workout? Join me at the Cooper next Wednesday morning at 9:00am. See ya there!

BTW, I love the picture I found! I want to adopt that sweet lookin' old fellow as my Grandpa! Oh wait, is he wearing a speedo???? nevermind.

June already?

Am I the only out there that absolutely can't believe it is already June? I am pretty sure way back in February I had promised myself I would lose another 5-10 pounds by summer.....well my swimsuit confirms that it didn't happen.

Oh well, surely there will be too many screaming kids at the pool for others to notice. Better yet, I think I will remain Whitey McWhitersome so that the glare around me will make people look away. I should come with a warning "Look away, starring at me will cause permanent eye damage"

You know what though, skin cancer ain't my cup of tea so I will be as white as I can for as long as I can!
