Coach of the Year

We did not win every game.
We lost some games by A LOT!
At least one girl cried at every game.
They liked the after game snacks more than playing.
However, they all said they loved playing soccer and they want to do it again next season!
Therefore, I think Dustin should get coach of the year!
GO FC UNICORNS!
(BTW, did you notice the unicorn head on the top of the goal!)

We're going tubing......

and not the "floatin' down the river, drinkin' beer, relaxin'"one.

Bryson is going to get tubes in his ears!!! Hopefully this will cease the never-ending ear infections in our household.

And maybe he will be able to hear me better when I yell "NO" "GET DOWN FROM THERE" "STOP" etc.

I knew something was wrong.....

I don't use our toaster all that often but the last few times I have used it has been a little on the stinky side.

Now I know why..........

I am pretty sure plastic hair barrettes and foil candy wrappers shouldn't be in there, you know because of the heat and all.

Today I will be rearranging my pantry so that the toaster is no longer on the bottom shelf where little monkeys can reach it!

Dance Party

Did this even work?

Anyway, if you can watch this video I took it from my phone this past weekend when my mom and dad were in town. We had so much fun just watching the kids boogie down. Please ignore all of our thick Texas accents and laughter in the background, just watch the cute kids! (if you are on facebook you might have already seen this so just ignore!)

We all know were Bryson got his dancing genes, ME of course!!! Future heart-breaker fo' sure!

The story of a bassinet

This sweet bassinet has held many a baby from the Davis side of the family. It held all 3 of us girls, at least I think it did, cousin Davis, Ramsey, Bryson and soon to be Baby Nate.
I got it out of my attic to clean it up and get it ready for Nate over a month ago and I got teary-eyed about passing it along. Meg and DJ have the PERFECT spot in their apartment...a little window alcove....to put it and I know it will serve them well.
We can't wait to see Baby Nate sleeping soundly in it!! Only a few more weeks to go!
The last time it got to wear pink:

LOVE FOREVER!!

feeling better

the whole house is feeling better today.

Ramsey will go to school tomorrow.

Bryson will be well enough and LOOK well enough to run some errands.

I will get to get out of the house.

All is right in the world.

I should apologize for my pity party yesterday.....I am just sick and tired of all of us being sick and tired. I know we could have it much, much worse and because of that I am grateful to God for all of my many blessings.

WTH???

for those of you over 55 this means What the Hell?? in "text" speak.
one could also use WTF, meaning What the F...?? but I am trying to keep this blog somewhat PG.

Double ear infection, AGAIN, for Mr. Bryson. This time around, snot was coming out of his eyes because it couldn't drain out fast enough......gross.

And now, Ramsey has a fever. NO OTHER symptoms of anything else so far.

Can my family please catch a break from being sick? Please???

I swear I wash their hands.

I hate ants......

We were having such a great time in the backyard this evening. Dustin was grilling, the kids were playing and we were all enjoying the awesome weather.

And then the ants attacked.

Just a few bites on each kid but still, what a buzz kill.

sick day

UPDATE: No fever today, much better attitude
and appetite!

(I don't want to jinx us but I am thinking we are almost out of the woods! all updates are written in orange)

Ramsey came home early from school yesterday with a pretty high fever. We are HOPING this is just a side-effect from her flu-mist on Saturday. If her fever comes back I will take her to the Dr. to get tested for the Swine......let's pray it's not that.

So, here is what Ramsey will be doing today:
  • staying in her PJ's.......she did get herself dressed

  • watching movies.......currently watching "Barbie and the 3 Musketeers" on the couch

  • drinking Gatorade......come to find out, she only likes the red flavor.

  • not kissing brother Bryson......yeah right

  • coloring......she even wanted to work on her letters

  • NOT spiking another fever.......SUCCESS

I have a dentist appointment tomorrow (I really do want to go to it.....most importantly to see all of my old peeps and to get a new and much-needed nightguard) so I am really hoping that this was just some fluke fever and we will all be back to normal tomorrow. I felt like crap last night too but feel so much better this morning! So, here's hoping we can have a healthy household today. NO SWINE.

Pj's

The other night after bath I asked Ramsey to go and get her pj's on while I was getting Bryson dressed. This is what she came out of her room wearing. She is so mad at me in this picture because I was laughing at her and wanted to take her picture. Don't worry, a few milliseconds later she was hamming it up with camera and Vogue-ing her little heart out.

He's on a catamarane

and I am on 72 hour full-time kid watch.

He's attending meetings, getting awards and hittin' up Happy Hour.
I am cutting the fingertip off Bryson's pinkie....no awards here for me.

What's getting me through the week you ask?!?!?
Parent's Night Out at the gym on Friday and getting a pedicure on Saturday.

Tootin' my own horn

Today, I became a genius!

What do you do if you have a mess you have to clean up but you are at a playground (that is way too close to the street) with two 4-yr-olds and an 18 monther??

YOU MAKE THE 4-yr-olds YOUR BABYSITTER!!!!!!

Tell them you will pay them $1 to watch the kid (in this case, Bryson) and that if he gets too close to the street, climbs something he shouldn't or puts something in his mouth to scream and yell for me!

So, after quiet time today I am taking Ramsey and Ava to the Dollar Store to spend their hard earned babysitting money. I seriously think they were about to pee themselves when I told them they could buy whatever they wanted..........sorry Erin, feel free to throw away whatever Ava buys when you get home! Best $2 I have spent in a long time!
