Viva Las Vegas

I know, I know. You are all over it.......you don't want to hear about my fabulous 48 hour trip this weekend. So, I will just leave you with this image.........

Oh, and we are also in possession of an AWESOME pamphlet called "Dice Talk" penned by my dad in 1994. You know we will be throwin' some dice!

Sky Mall and Vegas

So, next weekend I am going with a few girlfriends to Vegas BABY to celebrate Erin's 30th Birthday! Last night the girls that aren't going decided to have their own version of Vegas and party like it was 1999.

I woke up feeling good (because I didn't drink much) but thought about the ad I saw in SkyMall last weekend. I bet some of my friends were wishing they had this contraption this morning.........

Here is what the ad reads:

Work, stress, drinking and environmental factors deplete our oxygen and affect our health. This device helps you feel rejuvenated and relaxed. Breathing 30% oxygen-enriched air from the included headset gives your body the clean, fresh oxygen it craves.
Soothing music provides the tranquility your mind needs. The Tranquil Sounds Oxygen Bar replenishes, renews and rejuvenates you down to the cell. Headset delivers oxygen for easy concentrated inhalation.
No replacement parts needed.

However, I also feel the need to talk about the ad itself. Did she tie one on last night? Does she really look that relaxed? What are the odds that you can really have that tube in your mouth and still sleep? Is there a strangulation risk factor?

And one last question.....is it too late to order one for Vegas next weekend?

Drive By.......

If you are in the neighborhood I encourage you to drive by our house and check out our new yard art!

We have talked about moving for at least 2 years and have finally decided that now is the time. We probably won't make much money (if any) on our house but we are hoping to get a good deal on the flip side.

Oh, and if you do live in the neighborhood I will probably be coming to your house unannounced sometime in order to kill time during the showings!

We HATE to leave Jenni and her family as well as all of our fantastic friends but we know that moving down the road a few minutes isn't going to tear our friendships apart. Plus, I promise to host a girls night at the new house!!!!

Momma's back!

Well, I can tell that Brysondidn't miss me much while I went on a "girls weekend" with Shis-shee (or Sissy to the rest of us).

I can safely say that he won round 1.......he DID in fact eat a cupcake for breakfast because I was desperate, sick of him screaming, running late and had a certain 4 year old to deal with as well. I know, I am weak but frankly it wasn't worth the fight over a bite-sized cupcake......what's the real nutritional difference btwn a cupcake and a donut anyway?

However, round 2 is going on as we speak. He is screaming for his momma or daddy right now from his crib. We are going on 15 minutes and I don't plan on going in there anytime soon. Doesn't he remember that on school days he sleeps from 11:30-1:30!?!?

I mean, I have important things to get to like: updating my blog, finishing my lunch and unpacking.

Oh wait, what is that?!?!?!? The sound of silence! Sweet Baby Jesus I really won this round! I'll let you know how round 3 (dinner) goes!

Bryson's new best friend......

Move over Conner, Bryson has a new friend in town.

The poor kid has had some major issues in the pooping department lately so I brought out the big guns for him. Let me tell you, it did all that it said it would....worked in minutes, provided relief and wasn't messy.

He was a new man afterwards.

Gross, sort of.....but it's what is going on in my world these days.
Jealous??

randomness

so, I am taking this extra class at the gym and it is totally kicking my butt. like to the point that I can barely lift my drink to my lips and I took this class THIS MORNING. I have been working out pretty consistently for the last year so I would think I would be in better shape.....but I ain't.

in other news, Bryson is officially obsessed with Sonic red straws. If he sees one he practically hyperventilates until he gets to hold it. Oh, and did I tell you he is whistling? He doesn't do it very often, or on command, but when he does it is for sure the cutest thing ev-ah. He still loves high heels too! and his daddy! and Chi-Chi (our weenie dog)!

Ramsey is such a sassy little thang lately and it is cracking us up. She told me the other day that she was gorgeous and should really be a princess. Self-esteem-----check! She will also tell anyone that is listening that she is 4 and a 1/2 and will be going to kindergarten next year. Can you believe that?

Dustin is working hard for his money, so hard for it honey! If all goes according to plan, he will be traveling March-May of this year for work......great for business, bad for mommy and kids.

Like the rest of America, except for that beautiful state of California, it is FREAKING COLD HERE. I'm over it.

So, that's what's going on with the Bettencourt's? What's happening in your neck of the woods?

We have got to get out more......

or maybe we just need more friends that are boys!!!!!

This kid is totally cracking me up lately with all the dress-up and high heels. Dustin doesn't think it is funny......like, not at all.......but I think Bryson will be a perfectly well-rounded man because of all of the female influences in his life! :)
He will probably HATE me later in life when he knows I posted these pictures but this is my blog and I will document the good, the bad, the ugly and everything in between!
At least he has the dirty little boy thing down.....check out his face and shirt!

Grammie Bread

My Grammie, Grammie "A" as we call her, has been making this Swedish bread for as long as I can remember. Every single time we came to San Antonio to visit her she would have it for us or if she came to visit us in Amarillo she would bring it.

It isn't hard to make but it is a pain in the butt......an all day process. But the end result is totally worth it.

I remember her always complaining that it would never rise like she thought it should but we never noticed.......however, now that I have made it twice I feel the same way. I was totally bummed it didn't rise more but it tasted like the original so I got over it quickly.

Anyway, no one will care about this at all except for my family. I am just happy that I can carry on something that Grammie A has always done for us......as I certainly didn't inherit her sewing gene.
