"Just a swingin'"

We took the kids to the park the other day and got this GREAT shot of Bryson. I can't tell if he likes to swing or not....what do you think?

Is it me or do baby swings look like Sumo wrestlers "outfits"?

"I Wonder" Wednesday.....

So, I was going to do my "i wonder" segment every Wednesday from now on but frankly I am so tired today it will have to wait until tomorrow.

I know, I know....you were all wondering about what I am wondering about but it will just have to wait. My mom and I have been blowin' and going' all week so I am taking the night off.

Parabens e muitas felicidades!

Translation: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

(And NO, I do not speak Portuguese but that is what the internet is for)

Today is Dustin's birthday....yes, he is a Valentines baby and it is fitting because he truly is full of love. He was born the day after his parents danced the night away at a Valentines party and I think that too is fitting because he goes through life with such ease. It takes a lot to shake him, he is our steady rock.

He is an amazing husband, friend, dad, brother and son. He is a real man....a family man and I am beyond blessed to have him by my side on this ride called life. I wouldn't want to sit next to anyone else. I. Am. Lucky.
Happy Birthday!

I love you babe,

Lori

I wonder......

I wonder if dinner will fix itself tonight because I have no desire to do it.
I wonder if Dustin will notice that the laundry still isn't folded.
I wonder if Bryson will fall asleep in his highchair tonight, he is so tired.
I wonder if he will wake up again at 3am....if so, we will have issues.
I wonder what the heck I did with my life before Facebook and blogs.
I wonder why people update their FB with every little thing they do.
I wonder if the storms will get as bad as the "experts" say it will.
I wonder why Chris Brown hit Rhianna.
I wonder if anyone else has random thoughts like this.
I wonder what our next house will look like.
I wonder if the Snuggie is as comfy as it looks....it looks ridiculous too but in some weird way I want one!
I wonder why my kid is screaming, guess I gotta go!

Special Delivery......

Yesterday evening the doorbell rang with a special delivery for Ramsey and Bryson. Lolli and Pops sent them yummy homemade cupcakes and super cute new shirts! We feel so blessed that our kids are so loved by our family and friends. Ramsey insisted she sleep in her new shirt last night and wear it all day today.

Thanks Lolli and Pops!

Peace and Quiet....

So the gym I go to lost their electricity this morning, some transformer or something blew out. I was bummed at first because I was really looking forward to getting ready there after my work out......there is just something about getting ready there that totally relaxes me. Maybe it is the fact that I can blow dry my hair or pluck my eyebrows with out someone either interrupting me, rushing me or trying to do the same thing. :)

Anyway, my whole point of this post is to say that I LOVED working out in peace and quiet. Sure there were people there talking but the music wasn't on, the "purr" of the treadmills was missing and the place was lit by sunlight. I lifted weights in silence and I must admit I was much more focused than normal. Plus, I saw a friend there and since neither one of us wanted to do the dreaded elliptical machine we walked outside in the cool air and it was GREAT!

I think it just goes to show how much stuff we have in our lives that can interrupt us and distract us. I think I am going to try to bring my life back to the basics more. This family could use more quiet time for sure.....so, for the rest of the week the tv will be turned off sooner, the computer shut down, phones turned off and we will just be.....together.

Lesson learned: It was quiet and it was nice.

it's been a while...

long time no post, I know I know.

Honestly, my life is so predictable and normal right now that I don't have much to post about.....the life of a SAHM!!! It doesn't help that I am a pretty boring person too.

Good news:
Geoff was released from the hospital on Friday and is cancer free. Some other issues popped up for them though so check out their blog to catch up. And of course, always keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

I am about to get busy planning a 1st birthday party for our little dude. Can you believe he will be 1 in just a few weeks?? This year has absolutely flown by....I feel like I haven't had a chance to soak it all in yet. Mother's guilt is, well, it is awful sometimes (that is a topic for a whole different post). PLUS, we are finally going to get him baptized so I have to plan that as well.

Dustin is traveling for business this week (OOT for my CR ladies) so I am already counting down the days until Saturday. We are taking the kids to the gym for 4 hours and going to have a real adult date night! Couldn't be more excited about it! The next week my mom will be in town---it will be a fun week catching up with her!

Wow, now that I think about it I really do need to get off my butt and start on some of this stuff. Better yet, I will pig out on junk food, watch the super bowl and hopefully go to bed early!! It can always wait until tomorrow!
