Doggy Boot-camp

Annie, our adorable yet high-maintenance lab, is at doggy boot-camp for the next 2 weeks. I do miss her (a little) but I must say life is SO MUCH EASIER without a puppy!! I think Maddi and Chi-Chi are loving that they can get up and move around without her pestering them to play with her. Plus, they have one less contender for food scraps that fall from Ramsey and Bryson.

Bryson, however, keeps asking about her and going to check on her in her kennel. Then he comes out saying "Annie, school??" Yes, Bubba she is still at school. I have a feeling it is going to be a long 2 weeks for him!

For now, I will enjoy vacuuming up less dog hair, won't worry about toys or shoes on the ground and will LOVE not having to clean up dog pee or poop! But I do miss her, sort of!

Lake Trip 2010

Starting Friday night of this week, this will be my view for 3 days. I couldn't be happier about getting away for a few days with some great families to just chill by the lake!!!!

One family going, the Dunkles, are lake-rat virgins so I can't wait to initiate them (erin) into the lake rules........no make-up, no hair dryers, no perfume......we will however allow sunscreen, deodorant and aloe vera!

than it probably is.

I learned this today as I went on my first job interview since like 2002!!!! I randomly read a job posting last week and decided to just go for it by submitting my resume....honestly thinking I would never even get a call about it. Anyway, to make a long story short it isn't going to work out....not that I was even offered the job.....it was just too good to be true.

However, I did realize today that I do miss the work environment. My family is 100% my top priority but I also know that I need to make some time for myself and I think if I can do that while making money the whole family would be happier.

Now, I just have to find that perfect job.....you know the one where I work like 15hrs a week, get paid a ton, have super flexible hours, love it and don't worry about it when I get home. You know the one, the one that doesn't exist! In the meantime, I am sort of excited to see what the next chapter holds for me!

Sick weekend

Wow, what a boring weekend we had around here. Bryson got sick on Tuesday with a 104.5 temperature and didn't really feel 100% until yesterday. Ramsey came down with it on Friday night and Saturday afternoon I started feeling bad. By 9:00 Saturday night I honestly felt like I had been run over by semi-truck. I had been wondering why the kids had been so cranky.....it's because they felt like crap. We are all feeling much better this morning, in fact Ramsey is going to a day camp with her friend Ava!

So, needless to say Dustin had a pretty uneventful weekend......although he did have time to install the surround sound upstairs and he did a great job at it. How do men just know how to set that stuff up? It looked like a hot, confusing mess to me. He has a super busy week at work so I am really hoping he doesn't get what we all had.

It was nice that we didn't have to go anywhere or do anything for a few days....only because we had to cancel a few things. Although by last night I think we were all getting the itch to get out of the house. Speaking of the house, it's a mess, the laundry is piling up and I am in desperate need of a good workout so a better update will come later.

My parents were in town all last week, my dad left yesterday and my mom is spending the week at my sister Meg's house, and we kept them super busy! Here are a few pictures from our adventures.

Basically we ate, played, ate, played, slept and did it all over again! So much fun and we look forward to doing it again soon! We Love You Grammie and Gramps! You can come vacation with us anytime!

How is it that you are already 5?!?!?

You had an awesome time at your pool party this year and were surrounded by all of your friends. You are still a tiny little thing, petite as we like to say, but you are full of spunk! Your favorite things are: baby dolls, real babies, your brother, talking about kindergarten, swimming, playing with friends, make-up, jewelry, dress-up, cooking, riding your bike and hanging out with your family. What a sweet, sweet soul you have.

We love you more than you know.

(Oh, and sorry about the cupcakes and cookies at your party.....that is a whole other post!)

Mental Health Day.....

This is something I am in desperate need of. I feel like I am running around with my head cut off half the time and I can't get "it" together.....whatever "it" is.

I know we all feel this way sometimes and the feeling will pass but right now I am dwelling in my pity party and need to get out of it. We talked in bible study last night that if the Lord brings you to it, he will bring you through it....... I need to rely on his encouragement!

I am sure it will help to have my parents here all next week, if I can't get my mental health day I can at least get a few hours in there somewhere and can get away for a little while.

For now, I think I will go see if a little retail therapy will help!
