10. An UGLY red, white and pink heart bracelet - - why does my kid have to latch on to one of the smallest objects in the house? Why can't her lovie be a blanket or a stuffed animal like every other kid? (Although it is so cute that she still calls it her necklace even though for the last 4 months every time she says it we tell her it's a bracelet)
remember the good ol' days when all we needed to survive was some boxed wine and 2 day old pizza???
oh by the way, some GENIUS stole my idea of a drive-thru grocery store....we saw one in Lewisville this weekend. Totally bummed I missed the money train on that one.

Prayer request, Flies and "Sassy"
First of all, my mil Marilyn is having back surgery tomorrow so we would all appreciate any prayers, good thoughts and meditations you can send her way! Plus, my Grammie A had a little fall earlier in the week and we found out today that she did in fact break her arm......so we would also appreciate you adding her to your prayers as well.
Ok, what is up with the dang flies???? I am NOT kidding you when I tell you that I had 28 (twenty-freaking-eight) flies in my kitchen window today. I was on the phone with a girlfriend and nearly had a heart attack when I saw the swarm of them. I killed (yes PETA, I killed) about 8 of them on my own and then realized I could open the window, pop the screen and let them live....somewhere other than my house. So, if you live in the CR and saw a swarm of flies around 3:00, take comfort in knowing they came from my house. NASTY!!!!!! I seriously do not have a dirty house....see post below.....but I do have 2 stinky dogs so maybe that is where they came from? Also, does the house plant Kolancho breed flies, that is only thing different in my house this week and I noticed a few of them on those plants yesterday???
"SASSY" is Ramsey's new name from me. She straight-up has a serious attitude and we can't help but laugh at it. HOWEVER, it has got to stop before it gets out of control so we are on Sass-patrol from now on. I can't wait to get a picture of her in action....if only we had a freaking camera!
That's enough for this beautiful, hot, fly-infested evening!

Exciting things happening around here.....
Last night Dustin was out of town so after I put the kids down I had the evening to myself. A few girlfriends came over and we had a cocktail and of course gossiped! After they left I was just about to pack it in for the night when I got one of those wild hairs up my you-know-what and decided to do some VERY random cleaning.
Now a few months ago our washing machine died so we went out and bought one of those fancy-smancy front loader kind. While I love it dearly, it was starting to get a rather rank smell to it. I try to remember to wipe it out after every use but let's get real....you know that doesn't happen as often as it should. I decided to take a look at the little guide book to see if there was something else I should be doing. Lo and behold there is a tube and filter at the bottom of it that you are supposed to drain and clean TWICE a month....you can guess how often that has happened. So, I thought to myself there is no time like the present and started to drain it. The smell that came out of that washing machine was awful, rancid and just plain skanky. It smelled like a dead goldfish that had been sitting in it's water for a week....NASTY. And to think that is what I wash my babies clothes in, gross.
Anyway, I drained the darn thing, cleaned the filter (which by the way was NOT nasty!) and headed to bed. That is until I put my water glass in the dishwasher and noticed it had a not-so-fresh smell to it too. After looking online for 5 minutes I decided a good vinegar bath would do the trick and ran it thru a cycle.
I must admit I felt good about my random acts of cleaning and finally did go to bed. I woke up this morning with a clean dishwasher and an even cleaner clothes washer! I even remembered to mark on my calendar when I did it and when to do it again! You know where I will be every other Monday!!!!!!

I am not that interesting
So, 2 of the 3 (maybe 4 now) people that read this blog have called me out on not posting so here it is!!! I guess I just haven't had a lot of stuff going on that I felt warranted a blog posting.
I few things that have happened in the Bettencourt house this past week:
(warning: very boring stuff here)
- Dustin fixed the garbage disposal so we get to take the new one we bought back to the Home Depot. He was really so happy that he fixed it, what a Handy Manny he is turning out to be!!!
- Bryson has gotten a little better at the whole cereal thing.....at least tonight's attempt was somewhat successful....I think he actually swallowed some of it!
- Ramsey is OBSESSED with a cd that my sister Jenni gave her. It is the Disney Princess Tea Party CD and they say her name in every song. I swear she really thinks they think she is a princess.....it is cute but gets old after hearing it over and over again.
- I was totally dreading my weigh-in at weight watchers this week after "falling off the wagon" while on vacation but I was pleasantly surprised to find out I lost a few pounds!!! Maybe I really am making better decisions....either that or the coffee and fiber one bars are helping me out :)
- We are all looking forward to a little family vaca to the lake house again and then to Sea World. I think Ramsey and my nephew Davis will LOVE it, at least they better pretend too if we are going to walk around all day in San Antonio. (maybe I will loose weight on that vacation too since I will be sweating my butt off)
I warned you that I didn't have much, that's all I got.

Both kids are sleeping......
I should totally be folding the 5 loads of laundry that are sitting clean in my laundry room but instead I am catching up on all of my other blog friends.
Christine posted her lake pictures so check them out on her blog:

(it is a few entries down the page but I promise they are there)
Bryson will finally get to start Rice Cereal today. he had some poop issues all day yesterday after his round of shots so I didn't want to start him on cereal with an already sour stomach. So, wish me luck tonight at the whole solid food go-round!
Gotta go, the dogs are barking outside....so help them if they wake up my sleeping babies!

Bryson's 4 month check-up
First of all, can you believe my sweet baby boy is already 4 months old?
We had a good visit at Dr. Newton's office today. Bryson is 75-90% in his head, height and weight. I know you are all waiting on pins and needles to hear what the chunk weighs.......
15lbs 10oz!!!!!!! I have to admit I thought we weighed more than that but we are pleased with everything about him.
Hope all is well with you!
Love,
Lori

Still no camera......
Therefore no pictures. I know this is dissapointing to the few people that actually read this thing. (By the way, in the back of my mind I secretly wish there were tons of you out there reading this blog.......to the 3 that do, THANKS!)
Anyway, we have returned from another great trip to Lake LBJ. The BettenShaWald weekend was WONDERFUL!!! I have to say a huge thanks to Kalee, Allie and especially Auntie M for all of their help this weekend....you made it so much more relaxing for me and Dustin. There is nothing like watching the sun set over the lake! I could do that everyday for the rest of my life, if only I would win the lottery!
I do have a prayer request for Marilyn (Dustin's mom, my MIL & Ramsey and Bryson's "Lolli"). She and Randy (Pop's) were so nice and brought their boat out to our lake house this weekend. They graciously took us all out on rides to check out the huge new houses popping up around the lake. To make a long story short, we hit a wave pretty hard and everyone on the boat knew that Marilyn was hurt. A few hours later in the ER at Round Rock it was determined that she had cracked some ribs. Well, after getting a second opinion today she really has broken a bone in her back and will most likely require some sort of surgery. They are in the beginning stages of getting all the tests run and such so we don't know a ton of information for now. If you could all just pray her pain, for guidance for her doctors and for her healing we would all really appreciate it. I will keep you updated as things progress.
Bryson goes in for his 4 month well-visit appointment tomorrow. I can't wait to see how much my chunky weighs! He is always in such a good mood, I hate to have him get shots tomorrow. I will be sure to update you on the numbers as soon as I can. By the way, we were looking at Ramsey's well-visit "report cards" and at her 4 month appt she weighed 12.8. Bryson weighed that at 2 months!
Until next time.....
