floatin' thru the summer

This is the floatie Bryson will be sporting this summer in the pool. We tried it out a few days ago and he actually liked it.......well, at least he didn't hate it. He looks super cool in it too! Next step, remember the photo card in camera so I can take a picture of him in it and in the pool.

Graduation

Ramsey "graduated" from Pre-School today. It was such a cute little program they put on and Ramsey sang and danced her heart out.
It also made me realize what a sweet young girl she really is and how much she has grown up in the past year. I can't believe I will have a kindergartner next year.........

slump

I have been in a blogging slump for a few weeks now and it is time to get out of it. I have had plenty to blog about, just no motivation to do it. So, let's play catch-up.

  • We spent all day yesterday tailgating with some great friends out at Jimmy Buffett. the people watching is PRICELESS and the margaritas were yummy!
  • We had Ramsey evaluated by a kindergarten teacher that Dustin knows and she gave us some peace of mind in saying that she thought Ramsey would be ready for school in the fall. So, we are now on "Project Kindergarten" around here and are constantly quizzing Ramsey on things and will be doing daily worksheets as well.
  • Summer officially starts this coming Friday. What am I going to do these kids all summer?
  • We booked the annual "BettenShaWald" lake trip. This year takes us Lake Granbury for 3 nights......hot tub included! WOOHOO!
  • I desperately need to get Ramsey's birthday party planned, sign her up for swim lessons and enroll her in a couple of camps this summer.
  • My cousin, Melisa, had a beautiful baby boy this week and we are so excited to have yet another boy in the family! Who would have thought that 5 granddaughters would have all boys and only 1 girl???

That's it for now. I seriously have some things I need to get done.

Hello, my name is Lori

and I am addicted to Craigslist. I have occasionally gone on there in the past just to look for jobs or other random things but now it is a full-on addiction.

I LOVE looking at what people put out there to sell. I only look under furniture and rugs, because that is what I am looking for right now, but it is amazing what people think they can sell.

Here's a few things I have learned in the last few days of looking:

1. If you are selling your couch for $20 you should probably just put it on the curb because it is worn out, nasty and probably stinks.

2. If you don't put pictures of your stuff, why would anyone call you on it?

3. If you put in your ad "if interested, text me and I will send you a picture".....I think you are creepy. How do I know you are going to send me a text of the bed and not YOU on the bed?? Gross.

4. I LOVE it when they tell you why they are selling it. My favorite so far: "my new wife won't let me step foot inside our house with this furniture so I have to sell it." In other words, it screams bachelor pad and it is probably worn out, nasty and stinks!

So, if you are in the market for some used furniture.....patio, couches, beds, etc.....let me know and I will stalk Craigslist for you!

Feelin' the love

and feeling FAT!

Check out my wonderful Mother's Day dinner......all prepped, grilled and cleaned by Dustin! OMG, so freaking good.

Oh, let's not forget the dessert! Grilled peaches, Blue Bell ice cream and homemade Blackberry sauce! (the picture doesn't do it justice, so damn good!)

And here are just a few pictures I snapped while we all enjoyed some good ol' fashioned family time in the kitchen!
Bryson got a BIG BOY haircut today.

Ramsey acting sweet.

Is there a head growing between the kids?
Nope, just a happy momma!

I hope you all enjoyed Mother's Day as much as I did. My gift was a few hours to myself to go do as I pleased.......I chose to go to Borders and look at design magazines, do a little shopping, get a Sonic happy hour drink and then spent the rest of the day in my pj's enjoying this good life!
I wish we could have been with our mom's today, that would have made it perfect. However, I think they know just how special they are to us....even if their gifts weren't on time!!! :) We are who we are because of our parents and we are so proud to call the wonderful women in our lives "Mom". Love you!

Welcome to the family

What a GREAT day today has been.

My cousin Carin and her husband Rusty officially adopted their son Dylan today! I am so happy for them and overjoyed that Dylan now has his forever family. This has been a long road for them but I know they one day look back on this time in their lives and will be so thankful for the path God lead them down.

Welcome to the family, Dylan! We are thrilled to have you and can't wait to meet you soon. I hope your mommy has warned you about the WHOLE family.....we are a crazy bunch but we are also good to have in your corner!

Love you guys!

little things......

So, I know that all I blog about now is this new house but soon the newness of it will wear off and I won't remember all the little things that I love about it. so, here is a short list......

  • the fact that the ceiling fan in our room and the living room have dimmer switches on them.
  • we have eaten out on our back porch as much as we have inside. (this is also a blessing of great weather lately!)
  • the kids L.O.V.E. their playroom and actually play in there by themselves.
  • my laundry room has a sink in it! perfect for mopping and pre-soaking all of Bubba's nasty stains.
  • the kids also love the backyard and have played out there a ton as well.
  • I have a place for everything....including my Great-Grandmothers Franciscan china.

I will leave you with one picture. Our friend, Brina, came over last night to help us decorate the top of our kitchen cabinets and to hang a few things around the house. I really like the way it all came together and the best part was it was free!! We found all of these things already in the house and garage!
